Chigger Ridge, which is located just east of Interstate 65 in Cullman County, Alabama, is a place where the more experienced off road trail riders will enjoy. With more than 20,000 acres of trails that wind over and through hollers, hills and woods there is surely something for everyone. This riding area is not one for the faint of heart as it has been rated as one of the more difficult places to ride. It is also recommended that the machine of choice for riding this area should be one that is not underpowered, but those who have big-bored their atv, have 4x4 atv or even 2-strokes will definitely enjoy what this riding area has to offer. Another important thing to be reminded of is to not ride alone at Chigger Ridge, because if something does go wrong it is better to have someone to help you out.

Chigger Ridge has plenty of natural terrain for riders to experiment with, meaning that there is plenty of terrain that is rocky, steep and rutted that change continually. The one thing that it does not have plenty of is gas or food. When planning on riding this area, this is a good point to remember and plan for. Both gas and food can be bought at exit 299 on Interstate 65, which is on the way to the riding area. In fact, to get to Chigger Ridge, get off of Interstate 65 at exit 299 then travel northeast for about 2 ½ miles or so to the Johnson Crossing crossroads where you will turn right. Travel for another 2 miles or so to where you will see power lines cross the road. The parking lot for Chigger Ridge will be on your left at this point. If you are in Birmingham or the Decatur/Huntsville areas you are only about 45 miles away from Chigger Ridge.

Chigger Ridge is located in northwest Alabama, outside of Hanceville, Alabama. For more information on this riding area visit www.justadddirt.com, click on the riding area of the website.
