Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich Review: Brand New Menu Item Available June 6, 2010

Alexandra Morgan
I am always on the lookout for a deal or freebie, so when my daily Coupon Cravings blog update came into my Gmail account last week listing an offer for a free Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich on a first come first serve basis, I jumped on it. Hey, a free lunch is a free lunch, right? Besides, though I'm not a Chik-fil-A regular, I do really enjoy grabbing one of their sandwiches from time to time. Chik-fil-A just seems to offer far less greasy fare than their fast food competitors, and I'm all for that.

I clicked my Coupon Cravings blog link which redirected me to the Chik-fil-A site where I entered in all the necessary information about myself and selected the time and date I wanted to get my sandwich. Following that, I received a printable coupon which I was to take with me to my nearest Chik-fil-A location to retrieve my sandwich, one which will not officially appear on their menu until June 6, 2010.

Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Taste Test

I arrived at Chik-fil-A on my chosen date, June 1st, handed the cashier my printed coupon, and within minutes was munching on my Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The red hot sauce was clearly visible on the inside of the chicken fillet, and each bite offered a slow building of hot spicy goodness, just what you want in a spicy meal. The chicken was tender and well cooked, not too dry, as is often the case with fast food chicken, and the sandwich alone was plenty; I left full and satisfied.

Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Size Options, Cost, and Calories

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich is only 450 total calories for the standard size sandwich, and 540 calories for the deluxe size. I think you'll find that 450 calories is pretty good in comparison to some of the greasy burger and fries options at other fast food chains.

Total cost for this new Chik-fil-A menu item is $2.99; not bad when you consider that the sandwich is filling enough to stand alone as a meal; no need for fries with this one.

Chik-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Overall

I would definitely go back and pay the $2.99 for another Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

I will have to hide this from friend - she is a Cick-Fil- A fanatic and looks for any excuse to go there._

Good review - I can't agree based on my taste test, but you've provided good info for those interested in the sandwich.

Sounds good, haven't seen a Chick-fil-A in while. I used to go all the time as a kid. Great waffle fries and you're right, less grease.

Good job...never understood why Chik-fil-A hasn't bumped some of the other fast food joints off.
