Illinois Child Support Information & Calcualtion Guidelines

What can you expect to receive for Child Support in Illinois? Illinois calculates child support using the "net income" of the non-custodial parent, number of children, child support paid due to prior marriage, alimony paid to prior spouse, and health insurance costs. Child support guidelines vary from state to state.

If you hire an attorney, make sure the exemption forms from the employer are reviewed. If the child support it based on the net income, make sure he is not fiddling with exemption to make his paycheck look lower. This is important very important. The "Net Income" can easily be made to appear lower, so make sure you have a diligent attorney.

Here is an example of Illinois Child Support:

Net Income Non-Custodial Parent: $7200/month

Custodial Parent Income: Not Considered in Formula

Children- 2

Healthcare Cost- $10/Month (Mom's Work)

Dad Pays: $1800

This is basically 22.5% of the Non-Custodial Parent's Gross Salary for child support. Each state has a different formula for calculating child support.

Illinois' child support formula is definitely one of top states for child support, if you are the non-custodial parent. There are several that are better, but Illinois would rank in high. It is a good state for the non-custodial parent, and the non-custodial parent doesn't get their support lower for finding employment.

The neighboring state of Missouri pays approximately @14.6% for the same situation.
