Children Arguing Sounding like Politicians

Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner when They Were Younger

Michele Starkey

I had an opportunity to witness what Pelosi and Boehner would have sounded like as children arguing over who is right and who is wrong. If you have ever wondered how and why this country cannot come to terms in Washington, D.C., then you would have to turn back the hands of time and go back to when they were just four years of age.

It all began, a long time ago, just like this: Click here to watch the video, it was funny then but seeing Pelosi and Boehner behave badly doesn't make us smile anymore. In the end, one of them just "goes home" and little is accomplished. It sounds like Washington today, doesn't it?

Seriously, when children argue, it can be funny to watch the antics play out. As adults, we are saddened to think that there is no compromise and no winners. Especially when the results of the rift directly impact you and me and our daily living.

Can there ever be agreement in our government? We can only hope that one day, Washington will realize that if they continue to act as children arguing over who is older, wiser, stronger, etc, we will never accomplish anything.

I tire of our government's politicking and the childish maneuvering that goes on daily. While most Americans are struggling to live by working and scraping by, our politicians are being paid a pretty penny to play out a childish argument on our dime.

If you missed the video at the beginning, I encourage you to watch it here.

It begins:

"If I say yes, I mean yes!"

To which the little boy replies, "I said 'no' first!"

In the end, he tells her to "Be quiet."

The last thing you'll see is a four-year-old Pelosi look-a-like storming to go home!
