Children of the Future
Dear Child,
Us parent's want to apologize.
Yes child, Mommy and Daddy are sorry.
Grandma and Grandma want to say sorry too.
We never knew our impact on this world would lead us on this path.
All the believers are beginning to feel like their enduring the devil's wrath.
The rest of us can only hang our heads in shame.
For now, looking at the future is no longer fun and us parents are to blame.
Unaware is no excuse, while we had a chance to act we hid our faces further away.
Mommy and Daddy know that you were an innocent bystander who only wanted to smile and play.
This world hasn't any time to allow you to be a child.
This glutenous lifestyle has spun far beyond our control.
The consequences are evident.
We hide our hands over your eyes and ears to protect you from seeing.
We fear the day you find out the troubles all the Mommy's and Daddy's left behind.
Please child, hold no grudge for we were a victim of ignorance,
we thought out of sight, out of mind would last longer.
