Little children
running to and fro,
calling for their parents
buried beneath the rubble!
The children's cries of anguish
cannot break the silence of death!
How sad to see them
cast off like yesterday's
disposable diapers!
Yet in the midst of chaos,
good people,
out of the treasure of their hearts,
labor to bring
good out of evil,
light out of darkness!
And Christ
looks down from Heaven
who told those without hope
that though two sparrows
are sold for a copper coin
and God watches over them,
you are worth much more
than many sparrows!
And as He looks
His tears descend
like Spring rain
bringing hope and healing!
running to and fro,
calling for their parents
buried beneath the rubble!
The children's cries of anguish
cannot break the silence of death!
How sad to see them
cast off like yesterday's
disposable diapers!
Yet in the midst of chaos,
good people,
out of the treasure of their hearts,
labor to bring
good out of evil,
light out of darkness!
And Christ
looks down from Heaven
who told those without hope
that though two sparrows
are sold for a copper coin
and God watches over them,
you are worth much more
than many sparrows!
And as He looks
His tears descend
like Spring rain
bringing hope and healing!

Well done! It is hard to think of children in such a horrible situation. It is heartbreaking and tears the soul into.
It is hard for children to know God in the midst of suffering. They feel alone and forgotten. Sad. God bless.
incredible......thank you
I love this poem. I agree - it captures many emotions.
This poem comforts a weary mind, warms a brazen heart and assures a lonely soul. I love the many emotions involved in this poem and the way you send message of hope through Christ. This is superb! :-)
This is the best of yours that I have read yet. Absolutely beautiful and powerful. You are very talented. Please keep up the good works. God bless.
Those poor children!
Beautiful poem, with the promise of God bringing good out of evil. Many chartities are helping, but the most amazing one I've heard about lately is Double Harvest-- where you can sponsor a Haitian child and provide schooling and medical help for only $30 a month. This program was up and running before the earthquake -- Double Harvest is only 9 mi from Port au Prince, and was not damaged in the earthquake so they have been in a position to help from the get go. Some phenomenal pictures of their work in Haiti on this site:http://www.doubleharvest.org/index.html
How beautiful.
