Children's Book Review: Library Mouse Written and Illustrated by Daniel Kirk
Library Mouse is an Excellent Story for Bedtime Reading or Anytime Reading!
Library Mouse opens up with a mouse named Sam who lives in a hole in the wall just behind the children's reference section of a library. Sam enjoys his home and he reads everything in the library including reference books, cookbooks, picture books and books from other categories found in the library. Soon Sam finds himself writing his own books in the quiet of the library after everyone has gone home for the day.
He leaves his books on the shelves in the section of the library that they would belong in. Soon enough when the library opens the children find small books written by Sam. This leads the children to question the librarian who is at a loss on who this author could be. When more books start appearing in the library, the librarian decides to leave Sam a note on the bulletin board requesting that she meet him.
To find out how the story ends you will have to get a copy of Library Mouse by Daniel Kirk in your local library or from Scholastic, Inc. This book is an excellent book to read to children at bedtime or anytime you read to your kids.
Daniel Kirk dedicated Library Mouse to his friends at Glen Ridge Library and the kids at Glen Acres School but he also dedicated the book to teachers and librarians everywhere who help build imaginations through reading and writing. You can visit his website at Daniel Kirk.com to get to know him a little better.
Other books he has written, that are available through Scholastic, Inc. and his website, include Library Mouse: A Friend's Tale, Elf Realm, Kiesha Ann Can, Dogs Rule! And Cat Power! But there are many others that are worth reading. It should also be noted that Daniel Kirk illustrates his books with delightful images of the characters he creates.
Daniel Kirk's story Library Mouse gets a 5 out of 5 stars from this mom! Check out this book even if you are not a parent because it is that good!
