Are you looking for something different to do this Children's Day? Wouldn't it be nice to visit a place where iPods, Facebook and other means of modern computer technology and social media are not the dominating activity of the day? Oh yes we all enjoy these modern conveniences but for a few hours, imagine life without them.
I am excited to share with you something going on at Missouri Town 1855 in Blue Springs, Missouri.
WHAT: Children's Day at Missouri Town 1855
WHEN: June 4, 2011 (Saturday)
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
ADDRESS: 8010 E Park Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015
PHONE #: (816) 524-8770
WEBSITE: www.jacksongov.org/missouritown
ADMISSION: $5.00 Adults, $3.00 Youth and Seniors, Under Five, Free
HIGHLIGHTS:
Guests will see how children in days gone by enjoyed themselves through games and activities. Some of these include: pie eating contest, candle dipping, marbles, tug-of-war, stilts, jump rope, cracker whistling and more.
And maybe, just maybe after you leave the premises, your children will recognize that there was life without the intrusion of computer and video games.
While you're there don't forget to check out what typical mid-19th century original structures looked like. It will be a pleasant outing for children and adults alike.
