During a trip to a secondhand book shop, Mo finds Inkheart, a book he's been searching for since Meggie was three years old, when her mother, Resa (Guillory) vanished into its pages. Determined to use the book to draw out Resa, Mo accidentally releases the villain of the book (Serkis).
