Who among us hasn't wanted to be a superhero? DreamWorks presents their latest take on the superhero genre with Megamind. Featuring the voice talents of Brad Pitt and Will Ferrell, the film follows Megamind (Ferrell), the blue, bald alien who is the greatest super villain in the world, even though he isn't quite so successful in his endeavors. His nemesis is "Metro Man" (Pitt), a shining, white knight for Metro City.
However, when Megamind finally does defeat Metro Man, he finds himself facing a new foe, one whose dastardly deeds leave Megamind with no choice but to attempt to become a hero.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (November 19)
Rated PG-13 (for some sequences of intense action violence and frightening images)
Note: Though this film is rated PG-13, it is still included in this list because of the popularity of the Harry Potter series and the likelihood that parents will still take their children to see the film. If you're concerned about its contents, investigate the film yourself and learn as much as you can about it by reading articles and reviews and speaking with other parents who have seen it.
And so it begins, the first part of the last of the Harry Potter films, and also, one of the darkest. Part 1 picks up where Half-Blood Prince left off, following Harry, Ron and Hermione as they set out on their own to find the Horcruxes, the only things standing between the side of good and Voldemort's immortality.
Even as the friends struggle on their quest, the wizarding world is slowly but surely falling apart as the Death Eaters take control. But even as they torture and chase down all who remain loyal to the side of good, capturing Harry alive is still the Death Eaters' ultimate goal.
For Harry, no matter what he does, all this is leading up to the inevitable final battle with Voldemort.

Post a CommentSome of these I'm really looking forward to (yes as an adult I can still like this stuff)... and then there's this insane and pointless take on the Nutcracker... ugh.
My favorite version of the Nutcracker is one I saw on PBS called "The Hard Nut." This looks like a season of children's movies when I'll be making it out to see shows, too.
