Children's Museums in the Triangle

Children's museums are fun and hands-on museums built specifically to cater to a child's learning style. In the Triangle area of North Carolina (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) children have a few children's museums to choose from, depending on what they want to learn. According to Marbles, the museum strives to teach five initiatives to children:

Marbles has seven different permanent exhibits for kids to learn through play. These include "Around Town", a small-scale version of the area where kids can pretend and play; "Splash", a fun-filled, hands-on water exhibit; "IdeaWorks", where kids can build and innovate; "Art Loft" for creating masterpieces; "BB&T Storybook Forest", a place for kids to read books and act them out; "Moneypalooza", a fun and colorful exhibit teaching healthy money habits; "Power2Play", a fun sport adventure.

Besides daily admissions prices, Marbles also has membership options for patrons who plan on visiting regularly. Check their calendar for low-cost days and for special needs events as well.

The mission of the Museum of Life and Science is "to create a place of lifelong learning where people, from young child to senior citizen, embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community, and their world."

The Museum of Life and Science has a variety of exhibits, both inside and out, for children.

You can either pay a daily admission fee or join the Museum of Life and Science through a membership.

According to Kidzu's website, "Kidzu Children's Museum is an interactive museum for young children and families located in downtown Chapel Hill, NC. Our mission is to inspire children and the adults in their lives to learn through play. We offer weekly programs for young children (0-8 years) and feature an original exhibit, "KidZoom: The Power of Creativity," celebrating our community's creativity."
