Chilean Miners News : from Fist Fights to Rescue Elation
Chilean Miners Did Have a Rough Start with a Few Fist Fights
The miners started out with some rocky moments, and even though they have made a pact not to talk about their ordeal so they can use it as a means of income, a few things have leaked out. According to Fox News live in the beginning there were some rough moments, even a few fist fights.
The unorganized living condition slowly morphed into a very organized town of 33 men, each with their own job.
According to Medscape, One of the miners, the last one out of the mine, took charge and became the mayor of this municipal of the 33.
Each miner had a job, and became a contributing member of the underground society. The miner's underground town soon had a poet, a journalist (who documented the day to day happenings), someone to dole out the food and water, two medics, the psychologist, cameramen, miners to monitor the oxygen levels and other titles were given out to these miners, according to The Independent.
Although the medics had some training as a medic, the psychologist had no formal training, he was the miner who had the best handle on keeping his head and was a man .
The miners became an underground family and moved in a positive direction, even for the first harrowing 17 days when they did not know if people would be coming to get them.
Once the outside world broke into their buried city, things got easier by way of getting needed supplies. But the biggest boost for the miners of course was the assurance that people were coming to get them. The elation that they most of felt upon coming out of that capsule is a feeling that hopefully stays with them for a very long time.
