Chili's Bottomless Express Lunch - Restaurant Review

Janet Trieschman
Chili's Restaurant is an international chain. They have been in business since 1975. According to their website, they began as a burger joint in Dallas Texas. With a variety of items on their menu as well as a variety of dinning experiences available, Chili's can provide something for everyone.

A typical Chili's restaurant houses a restaurant section as well as a bar area with counter and table areas. In many states, the bar area is not an option for families with children. Both sections of the restaurant provide the same food offerings.

If you are looking for something quick, filling and satisfying for lunch, you may want to try their signature Bottomless Express Lunch. It consists of your choice of soup, a Caesar or house salad and chips and house-made salsa. All items are bottomless. You can even change the soup or salad on your second round!

Express lunch is a great option for speediness. For those who easily tire of a certain flavor, you can easily change things up. And for those few who aren't sure they are going to like a flavor but would like to try something there couldn't be a better option for them.

The house salad is more than just lettuce. There are tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese and croutons. The salad dressing is served on the side. While the menu only lists two options for soup, ask your server what is available. We were surprised to find there were six to eight different options for soup. We choose the Chicken Enchilada and haven't wanted to try anything else yet! It is a rich creamy soup with large pieces of chicken. Topped with pico de gallo, tortilla strips and cheese.

If you join Chili's email club, you will get a free order of chips and skillet queso dip. The queso dip consists of cheese and seasoned beef served in an iron skillet along side your chips and salsa. The tostada chips are thin and crisp with a welcoming crunch and flavor. The thinness of the chip adds to the overall flavor reaction to the chips. The tomato-based salsa is medium thickness with just enough heat that it will grow on you in tanginess and you will find yourself remembering your Express lunch with favor. I'd go so far as to warn a possible obsession and desire to return quickly! With the soup and salad options, you could eat at Chili's every day for express lunch and never get board. Not to mention the rest of their menu to choose from.
