Chili's Grill & Bar: Restaurant Review

Chili's serves delicious baby back ribs and the appetizer nachos are outstanding. Prices are very reasonable and service can be spotty, but is mostly good.

Menu

Appetizer Nachos- These nachos feature beans, queso with a hint of seasoned beef, and cheese. Jalapenos are optional, but too hot for me. They melt in your mouth and I can eat the whole dozen by myself. Price is $6.79; add $2.00 for beef or chicken added on.

Southwestern Cobb- This generous salad has lots of boneless, crispy chicken breast, smoked bacon, eggs, and is garnished with an avocado ranch dressing. This salad could take the place of an entrée. I like to order it with blue cheese dressing. Price: $8.29.

Baby back ribs- This signature dish comes in Original, Blazin Habanero, Honey BBQ, Memphis Dry Rub, Brown Sugar Chile Rub, or Honey-Chipotle flavors. You can mix and match flavors, and half racks or full racks are available. Price: $15.29.

Fajitas- My husband and I often split a fajita platter. We prefer the chicken and steak, but Mushroom Jack and Citrus Fire Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas are also available. Warm tortillas accompany the sizzling fajita plater piled high with meat, cheese and grilled onions. Sour cream and guacamole is also available, if you prefer. Fajitas can be ordered for one or two. Price is $11.29 (one) or $21.29 (2).

Guiltless Grill

The guiltless grill features healthy lifestyle choices with calories, total fat, and carbs listed for each entrée. The Guiltless Grilled Salmon is my favorite. Also available is a Guiltless Black Bean Burger, Guiltless Chicken Platter, and Guiltless Chicken sandwich.

Guiltless Grilled Salmon- A lightly seasoned and seared fillet is seared and served with black beans, and steamed seasonal veggies with parmesan cheese. Price is $12.59.

Desserts

For a splurge day, try the Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie- A warm, chewy bar layered with walnuts, chocolate chips and coconut is topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with hot fudge and caramel. Price: $5.49.

Service

When you first walk in the door, the hostess is often seating someone else and seems to disappear into the kitchen a lot. After you are seated, service is hit and miss, with some servers quicker than others to come to your table. There seems to be a problem with one waitress serving seven or eight tables.

Drink refills can come quickly or not at all. The better servers have your refill ready before you even need it.

Summary

Chili's has a wide variety of foods to satisfy most any palate and prices are very reasonable. Kids can choose from entrees such as Pepper Pals Corn Dog, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and Pepper Pals Little Mouth Burger. Healthy options are available at about the same price as fast food.
