Recently, I had the opportunity to visit China Gate Chinese Restaurant again for an early dinner. I ordered some vegetables and fried rice. The dish included snow peas, mushrooms, broccoli and onions. I will have to admit that I was least then impressed with this meal. I am not sure if it was the amount of grease that was in this dish or if my taste pallet has changed over the years, but I did not enjoy. However, I never made a final decision on an establishment with a single visit, therefore the next time I will try other dishes I have had in the past and make my decision.
I can tell you from my previous experience with The China Gate Chinese Restaurant that they offer dishes such as Vegetables and steamed rice, Black mushrooms, Bean Cured and Snow Peas. I found their vegetables to be extremely fresh and cooked perfectly, so if you are looking to improve your eating habits you may want to try some steamed rice with your choice of vegetables. However, for you meat lovers I have heard from several people, that their House fried rice is great and comes with a combination of Shrimp, Chicken, Pork and Beef and is priced reasonably at less than $8.00 for dinner and even less for lunch.
If you're looking for some great dinner choices you may want to try their Teriyaki Chicken, Roast Duck or Hot Braised Fish for less than $10.00. The duck is absolutely fantastic! It is juicy, well seasoned and roasted to perfection. If you're bringing the entire family, you'll be impressed with the children's menu offerings and price of less than $5.00.
When you enter the China Gate Chinese Restaurant you will see a lot of Asian inspired artwork and design. They have a beautiful Asian inspired Arch that divides the dining spaces. It is carved lacquered wood with beautiful and colorful bead embellishments. Their dining area is outfitted with cotton linens table cloths and napkins. The service is excellent and they are very attentive to your needs.
The China Gate Chinese Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a birthday, anniversary, wedding party or even a business or civic meeting.
Bottom line: Good Location, Family Friendly, Average price point: $7.50 for lunch and $13.00 for dinner. The China Gate Chinese Restaurant is open 7 days a week and is located close to great discount shopping and Games at Discover Mills Mall and Dave and Busters.
