The RV Business reports that the show and camping rally held in Beijing, China August 8- 10 was a grand success. There were more than three-thousand people who attended the three-day show and rally.
Leading off the show was more than thirty RVs displayed for the public to see. Included were class A, B and C motor homes, travel trailers, and tent campers. Inside the Changyang, Fangshan expo centers were manufactures and sellers of RV accessories, sporting goods, out door equipment, and camping goods.
According to the sponsor of the show 21RV.com, the following US manufacturers were represented. Forest River, Jayco, Airstream, Winnebago, Chrysler, Ford, and GM.
Next to the show area was the rally. About sixty-five camping units and more than one-hundred cars were present. They represented people from many of the provinces of China. RV21.com provided water and electricity for each of the campers.
Entertainment was provided. For the children there was a swimming pool erected on the site along with a small amusement park and walk through castle. For the adults there was music and laid back relaxation.
China is a growing market for the RV industry. It has an emerging middle class with expendable income. In 2009 a popular movie, Love at Seventh Sight was released that portrayed a beautiful young girl traveling in an RV throughout China. This movie helped popularize the idea of traveling in a RV to the Chinese market.
The RV Business Report stated that about 10% of the RV show attendees had a strong intention to make an offer to buy an RV. That is just the beginning for this giant market of consumers.
