Chinese Restaurant Review: China Star in Las Vegas, NV
Super Chinese Buffet & Menu - Dine in & Take Out
Las Vegas, NV 89109
United States of America
Walking in we, both my Teen and I, are greeted with the up most courtesy. My daughter, who was treating me to this fine meal, took the lead in requesting a table for two. She was treated as well as any adult and with respect befitting a consumer in a fine establishment. To me this was a major bonus point from the beginning, since I personally abhor nothing more then the rudeness younger customers must often endure in Stores and other establishments. The Greeter and Host, who we are to find out is also the Restaurant Manager, passed both with flying colors. His professionalism and friendliness was matched by our delightful Waitress Mae who was at our Table promptly to take our Drink orders.
We had arrived during a busy lunchtime on a Saturday. To our pleasant surprise the places, floors, tables as well as the dishes on the Buffet line were very clean as was the attire of the wait staff. The entire atmosphere in the Restaurant was pleasant and laid back, even with several small children being present. The music playing in the background had a very calming effect.
The drinks were delivered to our Table promptly. This Restaurant offers you the choice of a Dine in Menu as well as a Super Buffet. These are not only empty descriptions of the Buffet either. It is indeed superb. We opted for the Buffet and were not disappointed in the least.
When walking up to it you are greeted by a wide variety of delicious smelling and pleasantly presented food choices. Their fruit selection is fresh, plentiful and very appetizing. Choices included Bananas with a strawberry glaze, sliced pears in syrup, mandarins, different melon wedges and more. The fruit was fresh and well stocked.
The seafood dishes even included unusual choices like Octopus as well as delectable Butter Shrimp which my daughter pronounced succulent and very flavorful to me. (I am unable to eat shell fish of any kind and have to take her word for it). Some of the other dishes included traditional selections like large sized sweet and sour chicken, Thai noodles, broccoli and beef, pot stickers, Thai chicken and more. The soup area offered 4 different soups. My favorite is the Wonton soup which was lovely. There is a bit for everyone and you will find that each dish is blended in flavor to perfections. The colors of the various dishes are vibrant and the texture is perfect. The entire eating experience is a very delightful one.
As Desert they offer different Jell-O, Ice Cream, Water Melon, Almond Cookies and the most delicious macaroon cookies. These cookies are super fresh and moist. Perfect.
I decided that this Restaurant was worthy of a Review and a heads up to all of you who are looking for the same type of eatery as we were. For that reason I was requesting to speak to the Restaurant Manager on duty, who turned out to be the very friendly and hard working Mr. Jin D. Chen. Without knowing what the problem was, he was at our table without delay and eager to help with what ever may have been the problem. I negated his anxious look immediately and asked him to please have a seat. I explained to him the purpose of my request to speak to him and wondered if he would be so kind as to answer me a few simple questions.
We found out from him that this specific location has been open since January of 2001. That they welcome Party Reservations, are happy to offer take out and except the usual Visa and MasterCard. He was even so kind as to give me an updated price list which is going in effect the end of the month. We are informed that the dishes are made fresh, (which we could already tell) and that he holds the highest standards for his Waiters and Waitresses. He was very polite and was more then helpful in any way possible.
