Garden State Discovery Museum Lunar New Year Celebration: A hands-on museum for children up to ten years old, the Museum offers interactive exhibit areas and hands on educational entertainment. (Due to the storm, this even has been postponed until February 13th.) The Garden State Discovery Museum will celebrated the Chinese New Year with a performance of the lion dance, family-friendly fireworks and activities, including song, dance and Calligraphy, and a search for lucky red packets throughout the museum. In my first article "Chinese New Year Events in Philadelphia," I outlined several other events celebrating the Chinese New Year in Philadelphia, including:
2010 Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration at the Independence Seaport Museum. This event has been postponed until Saturday, February 13, 2010, due to the storm.
Chef Joseph Poon's "Wok 'n' Walk" Tour of Chinatown, began in January and is running on selected dates through February 28th.
Chef Joseph Poon's 2010 Chinese New Year Banquet is held daily at 5:30 pm and 7:30 p.m., through March 31st at the Joseph Poon Chef Kitchen.
