Chloe Dao Delivers Big Fashion While Remaining a Hometown Girl

After winning season two of "Project Runway", designer Chloe Dao returned to Houston, Texas and continues to live and work there. Not only has she continued to nurture and grow her already existing business, she has ventured into new design areas and offered up new fashion designs to fit all budgets.

Dao's Houston boutique, Lot 8, which opened in the summer 2000 continues to thrive, has expanded and receives media attention from national and local press. Lucky, Forbes, WWD, Texas Monthly, Houston Chronicle, Paper City and Houston Press are among those who are following the fashion and success of Chloe Dao and Lot 8.

Lot 8 attracts a diverse clientele from the Houston area, who come looking for affordable fashion pieces from the American designer. They can also treat themselves to a cut and style in the salon, which is run by the designers sister.

Dao participated in the Dove Deoderant Celebrity Auction in 2007. The proceeds benefited the company's self-esteem program, uniquely ME! Dao designed a one-of-a-kind sleeveless shirt to be auctioned.

In 2007, her designs were also featured at an exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum. "Exit Saigon, Enter Little Saigon" told the story of the Vietnamese American experience in America.

Dao created a line of clothing exclusively for QVC. The line, Simply Chloe Dao, is more affordable than the boutique line and also offers clothing in larger sizes.

Unlike some previous "Project Runway" winners, Chloe is not fading away. She continues to keep putting out her fashions, expanding her designs, expanding her boutique, offering us new ways to get a piece of Chloe Dao.

In 2008, Chloe Dao partnered with Nuo Tech to create a line of mobile technology and travel accessories. The line of slim laptop bags was reported on the Inc.com website. The bags have a hard outer shell and room for a file folder or two. They are priced at $40 for smaller sizes and $55 for the large. You can purchase these directly from the shopnuo website or at Sears, Target and Staples; to name a few of the retail venues.

March of 2008 found Chloe launching her wholesale line in showrooms in Dallas, Texas and New York.
