Chloe Lattanzi's Style in Her New Video, "Play with Me"

Chloe Lattanzi, the daughter of Olivia Newton-John and Matt Lattanzi, released her debut music video, "Play With Me," on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Since then, it's caught the media in several countries by storm due to its graphic imagery. In the video, Chloe plays a woman who is self-destructive, to say the least. The character kills herself in multiple ways as her partner does nothing, a metaphor-filled video that says so much about the pain of unhealthy forms of love.

What is really memorable about the video is how beautiful Chloe looks in stark contrast to the darkness the video possesses. It's seemingly intentional extremes, the very beautiful and glamorous girl in the most ugly of circumstances.

For the main video shot, you see Chloe sing in a perfectly lit headshot with an all black backdrop. Her hair is parted down the middle with make-up that's perfectly done for a night look. She's also wearing a chic black, strapless dress with a plain black choker and two big rings on her fingers, a perfectly together look as the scenes play of the character she's portraying falling apart.

The next scene we see Chloe in a bathtub about to hurt herself with electronic appliances in the tub. It's something out of a horror film, yet the shocking things in the video are a boyfriend who is on the toilet who is completely unconcerned about what she is about to do...and the perfect fashion and make-up she has even when she's about to do the unthinkable. Her perfectly pretty look here in contrast to the scene includes a short, sexy black dress and another fashionable choker.

Yet, somehow, as the morbidness of the video increases, the fashions get more stellar. In a scene involving wrist-slitting, rather than looking the part of a wreck aside from her wrists, she is perfectly groomed. She wears a black and white number, multiple necklaces placed just so, and full make-up with lipstick all perfectly placed.

We next see the self-destructive diva character toying with the man by placing a gun to her head; he doesn't blanch. Yet, she looks dressed to the nines and smiles at the camera. Wearing another little black dress and a cross necklace, this is perhaps Chloe's most understated, simply pretty looks of the video and she sings "never knew love could hurt like this" in this scene, an understatement for all the pain expressed in the video.

A half-dozen bracelets next flank Chloe's wrists as she sings through a drug overdose scene in more excessive glam than before. For this scene, she also has big earrings and a sparkly, black, lacy dress. The darker the video goes, the more beautiful the character seems to become.

Watch the video to experiment with her amazing fashion looks. Just save the darkness for the screen and the art. The official video of "Play With Me" can be seen on the TalkboyTV YouTube Channel.
