Two Key Insights on How to Beat the Bomberwall Microgame in Under 16 Seconds
Now that we have completed another level of Race to the Top, we receive another reward: a new epilogue. Just like in ancient Greek mythology, parts of a story change as the story is passed down over time. In this case, check out the new epilogue: 2. Merry Meat. Enjoy the story, and watch it come to life as Chubby magically gets some meat. When you regain control of the Chocobo, notice that the Jailbirds have returned to guarding the book. Return to the farm house, and watch as Chubby busts through the doors! Maybe his newfound strength is good for something else. Let's go after him.
Return to the gate to the volcano. Chubby makes like the Juggernaut and busts through the gate. Now you can explore the volcano. Head north to the next screen. Circle around to the right to find a pop-up card: 013 Lamia - Tail. Now continue moving north. Chubby will give you a magical magnifying glass. This item will let you see what minigame modes you need to complete to unlock the secrets of this game. Now head east. You will be caught by Peekaboo and a blue Chocobo, who introduces himself as Greeble. You will also meet a black Chocobo named Volg. They seem to have better things to do, so they leave you alone. Keep moving east, then north to find a stone wall. Let's check it out.
This stone wall takes you to the first of your microgames: Bomberwall. In this game, you have a 5 x 5 grid to work with. The game starts by revealing a cell that contains arrows. The number of arrows range from one to three, and the arrows point in one of the four cardinal directions (north, east, west, and south). Your job is to reveal the next cell by tapping on the cell that is indicated by the current revealed cell. For example, if the revealed cell has two arrows pointing north, then you touch the cell that is two cells north of the revealed cell. Repeat this process until you reach the crown. You'll have to complete this process for three rounds to clear the game. If you touch on a wrong cell, however, then a Bomb appears, and you just lost the game.
This microgame provides silver and gold medals for beating certain times. And the rewards for beating these times are pop-up cards. There are two key insights to beating the gold medal time. The first is to predict what the next arrow would look like and move the stylus there. If your prediction is right, then you can reveal the cell very quickly. Otherwise, you can just move the stylus to the correct cell. The second key insight is to note that you always have to reveal eleven cells in each round, regardless of the number of arrows in each cell. You can be lucky and reveal lots of one-arrow cells to complete each round in record time.
Now for your rewards. For beating the silver medal time of 20 seconds, you get the pop-up card 009 Bomb - Self-Destruct. For beating the gold medal time of 16 seconds, you get the pop-up card 010 Bomb - Self-Destruct+.
