Won Ton Wrappers (about 4" x 4" squares)
Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips
Powdered Sugar
Vegetable Oil
1 cup water
Instructions:
1. Fill a high-sided pot or pan with about 1 1/2 inches of vegetable oil. Heat the oil to around 300 degrees.
2. Take a won ton wrapper and lay it flat on a table or cutting board.
3. Place 4 - 5 chocolate chips directly in the middle of the wrapper.
4. Dip your finger in water and dampen the won ton wrapper around the edges (about 1/2 inch) as if you were wetting the seal of an envelope.
5. Fold the won ton wrapper in half, diagonally. Seal the edges of the wrapper completely locking the chocolate chips into the won ton.
6. Place the sealed won ton into the hot oil. When the wrapper browns on the bottom side, flip over and brown the opposite side. Remove the won ton when the wrapper is completely browned (color should be like a milk chocolate brown -- not a dark chocolate brown).
7. After removing the won ton from the oil, place the won ton onto a baking sheet lined with paper towels. The paper towels will help to absorb the excess oil.
8. Let won ton cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
9. When serving won ton, place onto a serving plate and use a sifter to sprinkle a small amount of powdered sugar over them. Use caution when eating, the melted chocolate inside the won ton may still be hot.
Enjoy!
