Chocolate Fondue with Fruit is such a delicious way to enjoy chocolate on any occasion. You can prepare this treat yourself .
Chocolate dessert with fresh fruit is easy to do.
You need:- 1 / 2 pound of dark chocolate
-1 / 3 kg cream
-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-1 / 2 cup sugar
-2 tablespoons brandy.
Preparation:- Boil 2 cups water in a large pot;
-Place chocolate, cream and butter to boil in an heatproof bowl over the steam bath. Mix well. Stir until smooth. The mixture should not become too liquid.
-Add sugar and brandy, mix well for aprox. 5 minutes; Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat.
-In this time, clean the fruit, cut them in small pieces and put them on a platter.
-When the mixture is ready, use a fork to pass the fruit through the chocolate.
White chocolate is always a nice change, and spiked with a little liquor or citrus zest becomes heavenly.
You can use all kind of fruit: bananas, strawberries, oranges, pineapple, peaches, mango, kiwi and bananas (juicy fruits are preferred). And you always can use dried fruit such as apricots or large chunks of candied ginger.
Arrange the dippables on a platter around the chocolate pot. Use a fondue fork, bamboo skewer, seafood fork, or salad fork to dip the fruit pieces and other dippables into the hot melted cream chocolate mixture. Eat immediately.
Tips & Warnings
When picking up the bowls from the heat, be certain to use pot holders or towels because they will be hot from the boiling water underneath.
You can use flavorings, such as extracts or alcohol in chocolate. Add the flavorings after the chocolates have melted fully. Add 2 teaspoons of extract or alcohol of your choice.
Some suggestions for flavorings are peppermint, vanilla, raspberry.
You can also use white and dark chocolate chips instead of block chocolate.
You can buy a chocolate fork from a well-stocked kitchen supply store.
