Choose a Nursery Theme for a Baby Girl

Choosing a nursery theme for a baby girl can be a fun party of getting ready for a new baby. There are many different themes and ways that you could decorate a nursery for a baby girl. Here are some ideas to get your started.

COLOR THEME: You could choose to surround the baby with two or three colors in her new nursery. For example, some pretty colors that may go together might be pink, black, and white or simply pink and black. You could either do soft or bright colors for a baby's nursery. Softer colors will cause a more calming effect; however you could accent with bright colors. For example, you may use a soft green with bright pink accents for your baby girls nursery. Try to use colors that can be kept for a few years, that she will not grow out of. For this reason, it may be a better choice to use softer colors.

DISNEY THEME: You could go with a Disney theme for the baby's room. You could decorate her nursery with Pooh or Cinderella. There are many decorating items that can be found at retail stores for a baby's room that are Disney related. You could even hang a net, up high, in one of the corners of the baby's room and fill it with stuffed Disney characters to add more decor to the room. Simply make sure that anything you hang like this is secured tightly and will not fall for the baby to get caught in. Do not ever hang an item like this directly over the baby's bed. Always keep the baby's safety in mind with whatever kind of decorating you do.

CARTOON THEME: You could think about cartoon's that babies watch, like Dora or Baby Einstein's for a decorating theme to start with. Again, there are many items of this nature to decorate with that can be found in retail stores.

STRIPPED OR PLAID THEME: You may want to keep the decor simple and just go with a stripped or plaid decor for the baby's room. If it is your first child you could go with neutral colored stripped or plaid decor, such as greens and yellows, so that in case you have a boy on down the road you could use the same nursery for him. Stripes and plaids make for a large variety of decorating options. They can even go together. You can find picture frames with plaid or stripped borders around them. There are several ways to use stripes and plaids to decorate.
