Learn what to eliminate
You must first eliminate the foods that lead to aging. In this way, you can then introduce anti-aging foods. Foods that need to be cut out of your diet include fried foods, sugar packed foods, processed foods, fatty foods and caffeine. Trans fats and saturated fats should also be avoided. When you've eliminating these foods the anti-aging foods you eat will have a greater impact.
Drink plenty of water
Water is one of the best anti-aging foods and millions of people don't drink enough of it. Your skin is the largest organ on your body. Water will help your skin stay hydrated and look its best. Without sufficient water, your skin wrinkles and puckers. Fine lines, crows feet, age spots and blemishes will start appearing on your skin if it is dried out. You should aim to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water daily, preferably more.
Eat Fruits and Vegetables
Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. They are loaded with nutrients and vitamins your body needs to look young and healthy. The color of a fruit is a clue to what vitamins and minerals they contain. So, aim for variety in the color of your diet and you can be sure you are getting the vitamins and minerals you need. Some of the best anti-aging foods are blueberries and dark leafy green veggies.
Add Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3 Fatty acids, like those found in fish and nuts, are essential to helping you look young. These fats promote shiny hair, healthy teeth and fingernails, and smooth clear skin. You can get your Omega 3 fatty acids by eating a lot of fish and nuts or taking a fish oil supplement.
These are just a few of the best anti-aging foods to help you beat the clock and look younger. There are more you can add to your diet when you've mastered these. See Good Housekeeping for a full list.
