Choosing the Best Bike Helmet for Girls

Cherie Bowser
There are many helmets to choose from on the market today, but it's very important that you choose a helmet that fits and performs well. When choosing a girls helmet, it is important to know that the helmet should fit snug and should never slide from side to side or front to back. When you are choosing your helmet, if your child can put two fingers on both temples inside the helmet, then the helmet is too big and you will need to use the pads that come with the helmet and attach them with Velcro. When she is wearing her bike helmet, the helmet should always be level on the head and not tilt back at an angle and the straps should fit very secure across your child's chin. If you can pull your child's helmet when fastened, the bike helmet is not properly secured.

In June of 2009, a Consumer Reports Web article recommended the Bell Amigo, Bell Trigger, and the Giro Me2 as being the best out of the girl helmets on the market. These girl bike helmets come in fun girl colors that she will love. Here are the three girl bike helmets that you should consider when purchasing a bike helmet for your girl.

The Bell Trigger bike helmets for girls come in white and pastel hearts or pink flowers. The Consumer Search website rated this helmet as doing well in crash tests along with good ventilation. There are so many people who do not realize the importance of wearing a helmet. I'd like to see you write an article detailing the horror and grief that can come from NOT wearing one. There are people around where I live that don't even wear them on motorcycles. It's so terribly dangerous.
