Of course, after a long ceremony, many of the guests and members of the wedding party are famished. And it's no small talk when it comes to the foods your guests will be indulging in. When choosing your caterer, one must always keep in mind the type of foods that will be served and if the caterer has a niche for these types of foods; No one wants to have a dinner served to guests who generally like soul food, being served Chinese food.
My aunt Mary Snowden is a splendid cook, and her catering service not only serves the famous soul food most of us enjoy, but she's diverse and can prepare just about any dish for any menu; A delicious dish of Mexican corn is always a treat to her guests during family dinners. Among the great taste, her food is made of love.
When choosing a caterer, one should also keep in mind of whether the caterer knows your likes/dislikes of certain foods; And it's imperative to be informed of any precautions of allergies when choosing the menu. Many people are health fanatics today and require less salt, lower calories and well cooked meats. What a disaster it would be to have the food prepared and no one is able to enjoy it.
Although my aunt loves her seasonings, she is very aware of some of the special diets of the members of her family as well as her clients. She holds the highest position in our church's kitchen, and it's no doubt about it, when she's in the kitchen , that all plates will be sold, and all members are happy and full. On the other hand, my mother is not able to have salt and high cholesterol foods, but she helps in the kitchen with my aunt, and with the both of them serving love with the food, everyone's happy.
Another good point when choosing a caterer is to make sure your menu is suited for all guests, children alike. Be sure that your caterer can prepare child menus as well as feed a vast amount of adults. Children are known to waste foods, especially if they are being served meals that are fit for an adult; It's easier to have smaller portions available and/or a specific meal for children, I.e.: chicken fingers, fries, spaghetti, or even a small soup may suffice for your miniature guests.
It may not be possible for my aunt to cater everyone's special day, but I'm sure glad she's available for our family and friends. Not only is her food made to perfection, and according to health-conscious individuals, all her food is made out of love. And what better way to celebrate your love, than to have a complete day filled with it-right down to the food!
