When choosing your clothing, make sure you take your body size, type, and shape into consideration for the best appeal. Above all, make sure your clothes reflect who you are on the inside. You do not want to give people the wrong impression of who you are.
Today we are going to talk about find the perfect collar shape for you. The collar shape of your dress, shirt, blouse, etc...can play a key roll in how your body appearance comes across. Here we go.
First we are going to talk about the "U" scoop neckline. This is a common type of collar cut. This type of style is a deep cut "U" shaped neckline. It is best worn by larger women with fuller busts and wider faces. This type of neckline will give the allusion of better proportion.
Warning! If you have a smaller body, skinnier appearance, and narrow face, it is best that you avoid the "U" shaped neckline. This will give you an appearance of disproportion and could cause you to look sickly ill.
Ahh...the wonderful old turtleneck: This classic neck style is basically for women with necks and faces of longer lengths. It flatters these features while balancing them out quite evenly.
The V-neck: The V neck is one of the most common neckline styles available today. The V neck can either have a long V shaped cut or a short V shaped cut and will flatter most any face type. The V neck is best for women with a square or circle face because it will give the appearance of length and depth.
Also, you can get a narrow V neck or a wide V neck. It is recommended that if you have small shoulders, you get the wide V neck and if you have more broad shoulders, you get the narrow V neck. A wide V neck to small shoulders will create an appearance of width while still showing off your elegance. A narrow V neck to broader shoulders will create the appearance of smaller shoulders while not over powering your shoulder type.
The empire neckline: The empire neckline is a neck style that has a deep-horizontal-square cut and does not go well with small or petite women. This style is best for women with circular faces because these individuals tend to have shorter necks. The deep square cut gives the neck more length.
And last of all the crewneck: This is one of the most common necklines with an average everyday T-shirt. The crewneck is high and rounded and hangs close to the neck. Most any face type can wear the crewneck but it is not recommended that circular faced women wear this type of neckline. It gives the appearance that the individual has no neck at all and makes their face look wider. So if you have a circular shaped face, try to avoid this style.
That's all for the neckline styles!
