Delectable and fruity or dry and tantalizing, no matter how you prefer your wine, its refreshing and a perfect accent to any meal. It is no wonder that wine is favored at parties and served at special occasions. It's classy, glamorous, and appealing to the eyes and the senses. It has also been reported to be good for you by lowering your blood pressure, decreasing cholesterol, and giving you over all better cardiovascular health, and why not, it relaxes you when stress has consumed every pore of your body.
Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc
Of course when drinking wine it is better enjoyed with a meal, but how do you know which wine to choose for a specific entree? Full-bodied white Chardonnay's go particularly well with poultry, veal, pork, rabbit, fish and pasta with cream, butter, and mushrooms. Dry, light bodied white wines like Sauvignon Blanc go well with seafood, ethnic dishes, pastas, curries, salsas, spicy sausages, vegetable dishes, luncheon salads, olive oil-based dishes, tomato sauces, and goat cheese.
Pink and Red Zinfandel
A good red Zinfandel accompanies foods like chili, BBQ, hamburgers, rich beef dishes, lamb, venison, turkey, stews, and pizza so well that it is one of the top sellers among wine lovers. Of course Zinfandel has its share of pink wines as well, and this type of wine goes well with smoked foods, quiche, pork, ham, Mexican and Thai food, but pink wine should not be limited to these types of foods exclusively as it goes well with just about any type of food. A good wine works perfectly for seasoning your food also, just make sure that you are willing to drink the wine that you flavor your food with as the wrong type can very easily ruin a dish that you labored over for hours.
Merlot and Rose
Fried foods and sparkling fruity red or white wines go well together, and a good red Rose goes well with Thai food. Full bodied red wines like Merlot accompanies Indian food quite well, and fruity Rose's enhance Vietnamese food like a charm. Of course everyone has different tastes when it comes to wine, and dry wine's can be mixed with soda to make it sweeter for a person that prefers fruitier, sweeter wines as not everyone has a pallet for dry wines. This is why it is important to visit a winery at some point to sample various wines to find the one that suits your taste buds the best.
Cheap and Expensive wine
Wine can be very expensive, but it is also affordable if you comparison shop. While you do not want "cheap wine" as you get what you pay for, you don't need to take out a bank loan to purchase it either. A decent wine can be purchased for around twenty dollars, but depending on who your guests are you may want to spend a little more. It is best to avoid wines that are under ten dollars if you are wanting to impress your guests, but if you are lucky good wines can be found on sale at times. Restaurants usually charge by the glass or the bottle. Ordering by the glass can be quite costly, and when ordering a bottle, you should know a little bit about the wine before it is opened. However, good restaurants will usually allow you to sample their wines.

Post a CommentI'm off the wine. The kind I liked had to be bought by the gallon. Some days it tasted too good too not over do it.
Thanks for the advice.
