Choosing the Right Date for a Formal Occasion

Planning on attending a formal event? Want to have an amazing time? The most influential part of how the night turns out is the date that you choose to take. There are several characteristics to consider when choosing a date. Some of the characteristics and other items to consider include: requirements, your expectations and desires, who will be there and the event itself.

First and most importantly, a person should consider what they want out of the night when picking a date. What a person wants out of the experience can include but are not limited to a romantic night, or just a good time. It is very important to ask someone to be your date with whom you feel that you can get what you want out of the night with.

It is important to also consider what is required of a date officially and what you are going to require of your date. If the event requires proper etiquette then it is important to choose a date that can be depended on to follow etiquette. Additionally, the type of dancing that will be taking place at the event then you should choose a date that knows how to country swing, waltz or whatever type of dance might be required.

What do you specifically expect from your date, do you care if you dance every dance with them or would you like a date that can and will entertain them self. If you want a date that is with you all night then you should consider taking an actual date, whether it is a boyfriend, girlfriend, someone you have been dating or someone that you would like to date. If you want to be able to do your own thing then a date that knows others who are attending the event or is just very social should be taken to the event.

Another consideration when choosing a date to any event is who else has been invited to the event. It would not be a good idea to take the brides ex-fiancé to her wedding as your date. This same issue should be considered even on a smaller scale with people who may have been in a relationship with others who will be attending the event.

Lastly, it is important to consider what event a person is going to when choosing a date. If it is a high school prom it would not be appropriate to take a twenty-two year old college graduate or if it is a police department banquet it would not be appropriate to take a recently released convict. This part of choosing a date is fairly easy to regulate using common sense but is also a very important part of the process.
