This story should start off once a upon a time there was this school , but , I know that this school has been around this area probably for more years than I can imagine or guess or even want to ask . I have called and or searched and you would think that the custodial parent / guardian or other wise would have a right to send their child(ren) to school of their choice as long as the school was within of about 50 mile radius . Now don't get me wrong i like this school "Alexandria " but , would like my child/grandchild be able to go to a different school if the curriculum is or was too much for my child or anyone Else's for that matter . The system bumps up the requirement's for child every year I believe , and then expects all of us to be able to just cram everything into a little ones brain in a matter of months when most have had more time then me and I know it is complaining but three months isn't enough time to really do anything and time man you ask yourself where did it go ? Yesterday , my child was just "3" years old and now out of now where it seems comes time for school and all this stuff has to be learned / taught quickly . It's academic requirements of a child to be able to : tie his /her shoes , know their ABC , Colors , and I am even told some are now counting not just to "10 " anymore but now to "100 " man how times have changed and schools have too. I guess what it boils down to is there has to be lot more buckling down of the parents/ grandparents . I had seen a few days ago of a "3" year old little boy of whom could say at least "3" of his colors now that's something else and it's even earlier now then what I remember When , our daughter having to learn all this stuff and now that's been over "20 years ago" man where did all the time go?. Here's some things on a need to know basis . Your child(ren ) must have paper ,pencils, glue , scissors, and even a "family planner" < for recording your child(rens) daily activities I am told that they use this too. Getting involved with your child , your childs teaher and even their homework will help make a huge difference in their life and yours as well . So do those p.t.a. meetings if they are still around , talk to those children often and make sure you ask lots and lots of questions to your child(ren ) and about them as well . It pays to stay involved .

Post a CommentI agree 100% with you. School has gotten awful. They cram all this info into little brains, and as they get older it gets harder. Not all kids can learn so much so fast. (NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND) is a joke. The schools have to pass your child or they don't get funding from the state.
