The First Way: You should pick something that interests you. If you pick a subject you are interested in, you will be more motivated to do the assignment.
The Second Way: What you choose should be something you are knowledgeable about. The more you know an area, the less time you have to spend gathering or learning information for it.
The Third Way: It is important to come up with something you are passionate about. The more you love something you decide to do, the more successful you are likely to be.
The Fourth Way: You must make an attempt to pick a subject that has not been used too much. For example, if your teacher has received a lot of papers on an area such as the death penalty, he would probably not be on board with you going this route. You cannot go wrong by checking with him ahead of time.
The Fifth Way: You should focus on doing something your professor endorses. If she tells you it would be a good idea to do your assignment on a particular subject, why not follow her suggestion?
The Sixth Way: You should pick something that is the best fit for you. It is logical to write on something you are cut out for.
The Seventh Way: What you have in mind should be informative. You need to write a paper that will educate others about something useful to them.
The Eighth Way: You should try to find a topic that has wide appeal. It is best to write something that will interest a lot of people.
The Ninth Way: You can choose a subject that is designated. For example, if the professor gives a list of topics that he wants the students to choose from, you should go along with it.
The Tenth Way: What you write about should be appropriate. For example, you must not try to teach others how to break the law.
The Eleventh Way: Why not go with something you have had success with? It makes sense to do something you are successful at.
