Choosing the Right Whitening Product for Your Skin

In Asia, people are not always flocking to tanning salons. Asians seldom want that bronze look as opposed to people from western countries. In countries such as India, Thailand, China, and the Philippines - being white is considered beautiful. That's why a number of whitening products are already out in the market. But for first timers, choosing a whitening lotion can be a pretty difficult task considering the numbers of brands and choices out there. So here are a few tips on what to look for:

First, when selecting a whitening lotion, do not base your choice on the product that has the catchiest commercials or advertisement. It is always important to know the formula used to make the product. Some whitening lotions contain various vitamins that can help skin grow new cells faster and repair sun damage like Vitamins A, B-2, B-6, C, D, and E. Some of these vitamins also have anti-aging and anti-acne properties that can make your dull skin glow. A whitening lotion with SPF protection can also help in achieving whiter complexion.

Moreover, aside from getting topical treatment from lotions with vitamins, you can also take supplements of Vitamins A, B3, C, D, and E to help skin become healthy from within.

Aside from helping you regain your fairness, these vitamins have added benefits that can help you achieve healthier looking skin. Vitamin A for example helps prevent acne. If taken regularly, Vitamin A will slowly diminish your acne resulting in clearer and healthier skin. Vitamin B-2 is also known as Riboflavin. Many products boasts of having Riboflavin in their formula - this vitamin can be the solution to your oily face problems, as well as helps keep your skin balanced. Many doctors prescribe Riboflavin to patients who often have sores and cracks on the lips and mouth.

Vitamin C and E are always the major players in achieving fairer skin because they help promote the growth of new cells as well as repair damaged skin caused by too much sun exposure. Just make sure that even if you're taking in all the essential vitamins, always apply sun block lotion with adequate SPF amount to prevent from further sun damage.

If you don't have the patience to wait for your whitening lotion to show visible effects, you can always get a little help from exfoliation to get rid of dirt, dead skin cells, and other toxins from the surface of your skin leaving you with a cleaner and clearer look. The exfoliation process is done by using an abrasive material and rubbing it on the surface of your skin.

There are a number of products such as micro-beads facial wash, micro-fiber cloths, salt crystals, sponges, loofahs, and brushes that you can buy so you can do exfoliation at home. Facial centers offer a number of chemical exfoliation treatments that contain fruit enzymes, salicylic acids, citric acids, etc. to help skin remove dead cells. Moreover, some treatments like chemical peels contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and beta hydroxy acids (BHA). These treatments renew the cells and have an anti-aging effect that leaves skin looking clear and smooth.

Whatever treatment or products you choose to make your skin look fairer and lighter, keep in mind first that these products and treatments will only help your skin look better. It is still essential to maintain a proper balanced diet and drink lots of water to keep your skin healthy inside and out, thus leaving you with a healthy glow.
