Chris Benoit was scheduled to appear at a live event for the WWE on Saturday night, as well as appear in Sunday night's Pay Per View event-Vengeance, according to WWE's website. According to WWE's website, VP of Government Relations for WWE-Richard Hering alerted police in Fayetteville Georgia after several strange text messages early Sunday morning.
According to the Associated Press, pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room, a law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press. Doghouse boxing's website reports that wife, Nancy's body was found in the office and that 7yr old Daniel's body was found in a bedroom upstairs.
It is suspected that steroids may be involved, according to the Associated Press. However, toxology reports will not be available for about two weeks.
After Benoit's family was discovered on Monday, WWE president, Vince McMahon, scrapped the scheduled Monday night RAW live event. This event was to be a three hour tribute to Vince's character "Mr. McMahon" after the character's death. Instead, there was a three hour tribute to the life and career of Chris Benoit.
According to WWE'WWE's website, Chris Benoit first appeared on the WWE on January 31, 2000. This move came after Benoit had already established himself as a top-notch wrestler in WCW. He also wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling where he met long-time tag team partners, Dean Malenko and the now deceased Eddie Guerrero. He also wrestled for ECW where we was coined "The Crippler" by then owner, Paul Heyman.

Post a Commentall so sad but true steroids can make you snap if you use it too much
it not only effects the muscles the brain is the most effected ...
chris benoit was a good wrestler and i dnt believe he woulda did that 2 his family he was alwasy in control of him self i believe so i think he was framed
I am having a hard time believing that Chris did this. He loved his family alot. How do we not know someone didn't come and force him to do all this. The worse of all this is why has the WWE all the sudden backed off from one of theirs, regardless they should still be there for him and his family. Why didn't they test for steroids more often if they think that was the cause?
At the time I wrote this, I did not know about his wife being bound. If that's the case, I don't see how this could be "roid rage"
I wish he had some sort of excuse... even steroids. But he didn't. Rumours of the "roid rage" that may have made him do it can be proven false by the simple fact that it was obviously premeditated. Nancy was bound at the wrists and ankles. There were bibles next to the bodies. "Roid rage" is real, but causes sudden short term violent outbursts. What Benoit did went over the course of three days. He was one of my favourites... I really wish they would have found that it was someone else that framed him, set all of that up... but it couldn't have been. He really did do it, and not out of anything having to do with steroids. Also the steroids found were all legal prescriptions.
Sad topic but great info.
