Chris Bosh Comes Up Huge in Miami Heat's Game 4 Victory

Chris Bosh has turned into a hero for the Miami Heat. Bosh hit two key baskets in Game 4 of the Heat-Boston Celtics series, and has suddenly proven why he could be so valuable to this team. The Heat brought Bosh into the fold to play in the low post, but there were times when he seemed to disappear in games during the regular season. That was not the case on Monday night when he came up huge for the Heat.

The Heat won Game 4 with 20 points and 12 rebounds from Bosh, but two of his late baskets were key in getting a lead that would prove to be the difference in the game. Tied at the end of regulation, the Big Three took over for Miami, scoring all 12 of its overtime points and simultaneously holding the Celtics to just four. It was an amazing finish for Heat fans, who might get to see the series come to a close in Miami on Wednesday.

Bosh hit a great fadeaway shot late in the fourth quarter and had a nice dunk to put the Heat up by four in overtime. His best play came with the Heat ahead by three points and in possession of the ball. Off a missed shot, Bosh was able to tip in a key basket that put the Heat ahead by five points with 24 seconds to play. He had outpositioned the Celtics to get that rebound, and that basket might have been worth his entire salary this season.

Bosh is never going to share the same spotlight as Dwyane Wade and LeBron James again, and he seems to really only get front page coverage when he does something wrong. That was definitely the case when the Heat fell to the Celtics in Game 3 of the series. He later stated it was his emotions that got the best of him, but in Game 4, he turned those emotions into gold down the stretch. It was probably the first time he has felt really successful during an NBA postseason.

During the playoffs, Bosh is averaging 16.6 points and 9.4 rebounds in nine games. He is doing the little things for his team, and he is one step from getting the best of Kevin Garnett and the big men of the Celtics. If the Heat can close out Boston on Wednesday night, then it will face the Atlanta Hawks or the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference finals. Maybe then he will accrue some of the credit that he deserves for his postseason play.
