Chris Brown Accused of Choking Rihanna to Loss of Consciousness

The story becomes more shocking as it develops. Chris Brown and Rihanna were both slated to perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, but were mysteriously absent. Before the show even began, rumors circulated that Chris Brown had been involved in a violent domestic dispute. As it turns out, the charges may be even more serious.

The previous night, Brown and Rihanna had attended a gala for mogul Clive Davis, and on the drive back, the two got into a scuffle. As the fight escalated, the two got out of the car. It was then that Chris allegedly assaulted Rihanna, leaving her with a scratched and bruised face, along with a cut lip. Brown fled the scene, an onlooker called the police, and Brown later turned himself in to the police. He was held on charges of making felony criminal threats and subsequently released on $50,000 bail.

Allegations against Chris Brown have taken a shocking turn. Rihanna is reported by E! to be claiming that Brown threatened her life, shouting "I'm going to kill you!" and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness. Her claims find Brown fleeing the scene of an unconscious and beaten victim. Rihanna was so badly injured that she was taken to a local medical facility to receive treatment.

Rihanna has canceled multiple concert appearances and her 21^st birthday bash, with concert dates to be rescheduled at a later date. Chris Brown has currently lost his sponsorship deal with Wrigley's gum, with representatives stating the that campaign is on hold pending the trial results.

The case is currently being investigated, and Chris Brown will be appearing in court on March 5 to face the charges against him. Rihanna is continuing to work with police as they continue the investigation.
