Chris Brown and His Disrespect Toward Oprah and Rihanna

Is Chris Brown Really Sorry About Beating Up Rihanna?

Shana Dines
Chris Brown actually had the audacity to whine about Oprah having Rihanna on the Oprah Show. Oprah talked about domestic abuse and the experience that Rihanna had with Chris Brown. Oprah had an earlier show on with Chris Brown where he talked about being raised with domestic violence. He said that domestic violence was wrong. Unfortunately when children are raised with domestic violence or other dysfunctional behavior they usually repeat it. It is imperative that men as well as women get help if they have been raised with any kind of abuse in their homes.

I would have had a lot more compassion and understanding for Chris Brown if he wouldn't have made the remark that he did about Oprah.
He was quoted as saying:

"I commend Oprah on being like, 'This is a problem,' but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, 'Okay, I'm going to help both of these people out.'"

This was not a slap in the face to Chris Brown, it was an acknowledgment of his abusive behavior. If he would have said that he was extremely sorry and that he was getting help for his violent behavior it would have made sense. He would have been taking responsibility for his abusive behavior. Rumor had it that he was going to apologize to Oprah on Extra. According to Extra that was only a rumor. I hope that Chris does get help for his behavior. He should be horrified that he acted out like he did and if he doesn't get help and accept responsibility for it, he will only progress in his abusive behavior. I find it alarming that instead of accepting his behavior, he attacked Oprah for addressing domestic abuse.

If Chris would go back on the Oprah Show and talk about the incident maybe he would show that he was willing to take responsibility for his behavior. He would also be an example of what happens if children who come from violent homes don't get help for it. I don't believe that Chris can't change. I do believe that if he doesn't take responsibility for it though, and get help that he will only become more violent.

I hope that Rihanna stays away from him and gets help for herself. If she doesn't she will continue getting in relationships where she will be abused.

Many adult children from abusive homes, swear they will not continue the patterns that they have learned when they were young. Unfortunately without mental help most of them will continue the abuse.

Very sad to see Rihanna go through this....let's hope she finds a great guy and shows CB how a real man will treat her.

What he did was horrific and he does not really seem sorry at all.

Chris Brown sounds just like any other domestic abuser. Nothing comes out of his mouth but denial and excuses!

Good glimpse into this thug...nothing but contrition & humility should be emanating from Chris Brown.
