Chris Brown plead not guilty In a Los Angeles courtroom today facing two counts of Felony Assault charges, from his alleged incident with Rihanna. Even if his lawyer does get him off the hook for this one everyone knows he did it, he issued a public apology stating how sorry he was.

How can Chris Brown Plead not guilty if he said

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,"

Additionally his publicist released an additional statement saying

"I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones, and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

Now, I don't know about you but, it sounds to me like he did it, sounds to me like he knows it was wrong, so what changed? Well if Chris Brown is found guilty of Felony Assault, he could be facing up to four years and eight months behind bars. Well, maybe I would plead not guilty too when I'm faced with almost 5 years of hard time, but I also didn't choose to lay my hand upon a woman.

For those who haven't seen the picture of the Rihanna beating, I have attached a few so you can get the idea. In those photos it is pretty clear to me; Chris Brown did not do that in one punch, two or even three. He had to repeatedly hit her in her face in order to do that kind of damage. According to a sworn police statement the argument was started because of a text message (from another woman) Rihanna saw on Chris Brown's phone.

Regardless of why, how, or where the incident started Chris Brown was malicious and the photos prove that. Some would say laying a finger on a woman should be a crime in itself, but if you are repeatedly punching a woman in the face there's definitely a problem. Chris Brown plead not guilty today and if he gets away with it I would hope all the young woman/men don't see this as something that's normal. They should know what he did was wrong and extremely out of the norm, no healthy relationships have an occasional beating thrown in there. He shouldn't get away with it; it would send such a convoluted message to our young people in America.

Chris Brown pleads not guilty, what a joke!
