Chris Brown and Rhianna, Where They Went Wrong

It is truly amazing how times have changed. Less than or about a year ago, it was rumored that Robin Rhianna Fenty, aka Rhianna; the twenty year old Bajan born pop singer and nineteen year old Virginia born singer Christopher Maurice Brown aka Chris Brown were an item.

These young celebrities actually never publicly admitted to being a couple. Despite the public appearances at several events, performances together as well as exotic vacations especially to her native Barbados. One of the first sitings of this duo was at one of 2008's Grammy after parties. After which they were both separately asked if there were any flames igniting. His response was basically that he was a single guy whilst hers was that he is her best friend and if there were a romantic relationship going on she would have fessed up. She further declared that they had a 'brother sister relationship'. Hmmm, some 'brother sister relationship' this turned out to be! Despite the many later photos of the two in various romantic settings and obvious 'concidences' like him having a verse in a version of her smash hit 'UMBRELLA' Rhianna and Chris maintained that they were just friends.

Friends or lovers we've all enjoyed watching these talented young stars do what they do best separately or together, one must admit that they are attractive eye candies! I was not surprised when the 51st Annual Grammies announced that Rhianna who was slated to perform would not make it. I was a little concerned when I heard coincidentally Chris, slated to perform also could nor make it. Nonetheless I was no where prepared for what later turned out the be the alleged reason for the no shows.

The night of the incident all stories and scenarios were alleged. One was that the entire fiasco came about due to an ex from Chris's past who he seemingly rekindled flames with while the other was that Rhianna transmitted a sexual transmitted incurable virus to Chris and he exploded over this. Whatever the reason was angered the nineteen year old Brown to a point of violence and battery. What is known for certain according to the cops that were summoned on Sunday was that the couple were arguing in their rented Lamboughini after which they pulled over, got out of the car and the argument escalated becoming violent. It is alleged that Brown punched Rhianna in the face and bit her on arm. True or not Rhianna is left with evidence of severe injury in the facial area.

Even now as the reason is still unclear as to why Chris lost his composure on Rhianna, the story is far from over. While she is recovering from this brutal act, Chris faces a world of legal problems. Among other consequences he has been dropped from his campaign with Wrigley. His arraignment is set for March 2009. His destiny will be decided then, he can face jail terms or huge fines. None of which will be easy without the co-operation of his one time 'brother sister best friend' and victim Rhianna.
