Chris Rock Hit with Paternity Suit

Siun Griffin
American comedian Chris Rock has had a second paternity suit filed against him by the same women.

The initial paternity suit was filed in Georgia by a woman that insists her 13-year-old son's biological father is Christ Rock. After the suit was thrown out of the courts in Georgia, the woman, Kali Bowyer, sought the advice of her lawyer on what to do next. Bowyer's lawyer suggested filing a suit closer the Chris Rock's home, thus a new paternity suit has now been filed in New York.

The 13-year-old son of Kali Bowyer, Jordan, is currently undergoing test for epilepsy after a recent seizure. Kali Bowyer is looking for help with medical care, child support and lawyers fees if the paternity test proves that Chris Rock is the father of the child. She has said she is not looking to a receive a large payout for herself.

It is these recent health problems that are thought to have spurred Kali Bowyer to resume her previous attempts at getting Chris Rock to submit a paternity test.

Chris Rock has yet to make a direct comment about the paternity suit. However, his lawyer has apparently said that Chris Rock has no problem submitting a paternity test but at the moment it would not be possible because the comedian is too busy doing promotion work for his most recent movie.

Chris Rock, aged 42, is popular for his numerous comedy successes, both in front and behind the camera. The comedian originally comes from South Carolina. The actor/ writer/ director also spent some of his childhood in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a Brooklyn, New York neighbourhood. It was his experiences in Brooklyn that inspired Chris Rock's show, 'Everybody Hates Chris'. Besides the popular 'Everybody Hates Chris' show, Chris Rock is also well know for his parts on 'Saturday Night Live', 'In Living Color', 'Bad Company', 'Madagascar' and 'Dogma'.

Chris Rock currently lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife of ten years Malaak. The couple also have two young daughters named Lola Simone and Zahra Savannah. Malaak began and currently runs the Style Works salon. There were rumors in 2006 that the couple were getting divorced but shortly after the rumors Chris Rock made a statement saying that he and his wife were not getting divorced.

The Associated Press attempted to contact Kali Bowyer. The Associated Press were able to contact Kali Bowyer's lawyer, Jodi Kimmel, but she would not comment on the case. Bowyer is claiming that at one time she and Chris Rock, "were friends and we spend time together."
