who, for me, chose to forego a crown of stars
who, instead, wore a crown of thorns
who refused a robe of dawn's velvet
who, instead, chose a tattered wrap
who bore the insults of brutes
and the wip of tormentors,
was spat upon, cursed at,
and forced to carried a cross,
too heavy for one so weak as I to bear
CHRIST MY KING
so unlike other kings in manner and in kind
Son of God, Saviour of man
CHRIST MY KING
who by thy death gave me life
who by thy suffering gave me relief
who by earthly rejection, gave me acceptance and admitance
into thy true kindom, Heaven.
I ADORE THEE!
