Christian music artist Rebecca St. James became engaged to Jacob Fink at her family's farm in Franklin, Tennessee, on Christmas Day. Fink requested Rebecca's parents' blessing before popping the question.
Fink, a Colorado native who now calls southern California home, is pursuing a career in music. The couple met through mutual friends in Los Angeles. Before delving into music, Fink served as a missionary in South Africa for two years before heading to college, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in communications and an emphasis on film production.
In announcing the news to family and friends, St. James sent out this message: "We are truly amazed at finding our dreams and ideals met in the love we've found. We are exceedingly grateful for this precious gift from God."
St. James is best recognized by her signature song, "Wait For Me." She is also the author of several best-selling books and is a popular speaker on issues affecting young women. She has long been an outspoken advocate of purity before marriage.
In addition to planning her upcoming nuptials, Grammy Award winner St. James will be a busy lady in 2011. On April 5, she releases a new studio album: I Will Praise You. This is her first release on Beach Street/Reunion Records, home to Christian music supergroup Casting Crowns. Her first single off the new record, "Shine Your Glory Down" will hit radio on February 11.
In September, St. James will release her ninth book, What Is He Thinking? The book will be published by Hacheete/Faithwords.
