Christian Bale Rant Released on Heels of Ashton Kutcher Rant

Christian Bale and Ashton Kutcher Find that a Recording Lasts Forever

What is it with all these big celebrities doing everything they possibly can to ruin their good names? Stars like Christian Bale and Ashton Kutcher went on rants, one on video and one on audio. Both seem to be intent on making asses of themselves.

And does it really matter that Ashton Kutcher's verbal explosion happened in the relatively near past? Not one bit. Although Christian Bale's F-word express (he says the F-word 36 times in his vent) was recorded during the filming of "Terminator: Salvation," the audio of the rant was released this week.

And just after both guys were getting such good press. Ashton Kutcher has been riding the good news surrounding the rise to celebrity of Laura Leigh Siani off of his show "True Beauty" (Kutcher is often mentioned in articles about the very nice Laura Leigh because he is an executive producer of the ABC reality show). Christian Bale has been the recipient of much good press due to his association with "The Dark Knight" and Heath Ledger, big winners at various awards shows in the last few weeks.

But then they had to go and spoil it by letting their egos override their mouths.

According to MSNBC, Ashton Kutcher made the news this week when he went on the verbal warpath about some construction going on around his home that was inconveniencing him from a little sleep at 7 a.m. In fact, he decided to put it on video, dropping a couple F-words along the way, and broadcast his anger to the world on the internet. His over-the-top ridiculousness over people doing their jobs was not sympathetically received and he issued a quick apology, via video, of course.

Christian Bale's rant had become somewhat of a Hollywood legend, according to Elizabeth Snead at the Los Angeles Times, but no one not on the set of "Terminator: Salvation" had actually heard it. That changed when the audiotape was leaked to the world this week.

It seems that Christian Bale took his ire out on Shane Hurlbert, director of photography for "Terminator: Salvation." Hurlbert had interrupted a scene of Bale's, causing the passionate actor to let loose a torrent of verbal abuse upon him.

Bruce Franklin, an assistant director on "Terminator: Salvation" stood up for Bale, calling him a "consummate professional." Franklin, who had worked with Christian Bale before, said, "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

Christian Bale was recently cleared of assaulting his mother and sister the night of the premiere of "The Dark Knight" in London.

Ashton Kutcher's apology and Franklin's loyal protestations for Christian Bale aside, there seems to be little of the professional about their rants.

Perhaps a little less concentrated ego and a good dose of humility might help. Knowing they've been immortalized as iconic asses might be that dose...

You should know the whole story. This light boy spent his time annoying him while he was turning an important scene. And anyway, my theater teacher spent his time screaming at me xD So whatever! People should understand after you say it to them numerous times! Or yeah, even myself could get angry! And I'm usually calm. If a professional works, I will never interrumpt his show.

The Ashton Kutcher video has been removed. But, I can only imagine how ridiculous he sounds. He's got a few years of maturing before he can be called a man yet, anyway. He often demonstrates his immaturity without even trying. I used to be fan of Christian Bale, but his tirade completely ruined my respect for him. Plus he reminds me of a former brother-in-law. Guess I shouldn't hold it against him. :D

After reading your article, I had to go listen to the audio to hear it for myself. I think some of that American Psycho stuff wore off on him. Cuckoo!
