A few aspects to consider when seeking Christian education-not all inclusive.
Bible. What version of the Bible does the school use to teach? If it is a version other than your preferred version can your preferred version be used for assignments as long as a version of that Bible is supplied to the teacher?
Chapel. What type of music is played during the chapel services? How often are chapel services? Who is in charge of the Chapel services? Is there a Spiritual emphasis week or are days designated periodically through out the year? Is there a specific denomination related to the school? Is there a church that founded the school? Are the teachers required to attend the church associated with the church? Are there activities that require you to attend the church associated with the school if you attend a church that is not the school's church?
Education. Does the school use Christian text books or secular state provided public school text books? What kind of accreditation does the school have? Does the school allow the student to attend classes elsewhere to obtain education the school does not provide? For example, I studied Latin in the public school and when I transferred to the Christian school they did not teach Latin. They were willing for me to obtain credit for Latin if I attended classes at the local Language Learning Center. Is it important to you the student to teacher ratio? Is it important to you the number of teachers that have their Master's degree or higher? How many students attend higher education upon graduation?
Uniforms. Are uniforms required? Are there different uniforms depending on the season of the year? Are there "dress down" days, if yes what is the acceptable attire for that day (ie are slogans on shirts acceptable).
Tuition. Does the school provide scholarships? Does the school provide a multiple student discount (ie brother and sister attend)? Does the school provide a discount if you are a member of the church associated with the school? Is there a discount if you pay your tuition once in full, up front? Can you pay monthly? If yes, is it only for the months school is in session or the twelve calendar months? Do they have a tuition assistance program? For example is there a local store that if you shop there, a certain percentage can be donated back to your account?
Home Schooling. Does the school let you take so many classes at the school in the actual classroom and then take the rest of the classes via home schooling? Obviously the Science classes and other "hands-on" classes may be easier at the school rather than at home. Please note that this may provide a discount in tuition.
Extra Curricular. What extra curricular events are available? Are there any required events such as community service? What is the sports program like? Are there any activities where the lack for number of students enrolled may put the activity in jeopardy? What is the district the school plays in and against? How are the Arts? For music, is there a band and an orchestra?
I hope a few of these aspects will help you select the very best education.
