...The King took another wife. She was very beautiful, but so proud and haughty that she could not bear to be surpassed in beauty by anyone. She possessed a wonderful mirror which could answer her when she stood before it and said, "Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest of all?"
The mirror answered, "Thou, O Queen, art the fairest of all," and the Queen was contented, because she knew the mirror could speak nothing but the truth.
The mirror could speak nothing but the truth! The wicked Queen was the most beautiful woman in the land. Snow White was only a beautiful baby. She was too small to be significant.

Lance Armstrong. In 1996, Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen, brain, and lungs. At that time, he was one of the top cyclists in the world. In 1997- during his treatment, before his recovery, and before he knew he would survive his own cancer battle- he founded the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The Foundation raises some money for cancer research but its focus is to support cancer survivors. In the very midst of his illness, his focus was on ways cancer survivors could live more fully.
"...I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."
Lance Armstrong fought through chemotherapy, the surgical removal of brain tumors, and the removal of the diseased testicle. He won his cancer battle and returned to cycling in 1998. The next year he won the first of an unprecedented seven straight Tour de France victories. He is the greatest cyclist of all time. Lance Armstrong's courage and tenacity are without equal. His commitment to cancer research and children health programs is uncompromised.
As he makes clear in many interviews and his second book, Every Second Counts, Lance Armstrong is an atheist.

I don't disparage anything Lance Armstrong does. His accomplishments- his works- are worthy of admiration. Any attempt to diminish what he does is hypocrisy. Lance Armstrong's bright image is not the problem. Our Christian infancy is the problem; Snow White is a baby.
The unsaved world will look bright as long as we are insignificant infants. If our neighbors and co-workers think Lance Armstrong is brighter than we are, then Christians have a problem. It is pass time for the church to grow up. We have the ability to look better to the world than Lance Armstrong. Lance Armstrong is matchstick afire; Christians need to be candles. Candles burn steady. Candles burn long.
We may never have Lance Armstrong's fame or his money. But, we do have access, time, and consistency. Lance Armstrong can appear on your neighbor's TV but he cannot help your neighbor with the yard work. Lance Armstrong can found a charity but he can't hold the door open for an overburdened sales clerk. We can touch our friends, acquaintances, and co-workers for Christ. We must make a bigger impact on the world. The eternal destination of millions depends on what we choose to do- on how we choose to live.
A rushing flood can cut a path or destroy a town but it took the steady, consistent flow of the Colorado River to create the Grand Canyon! We have the access, time, and consistency. These three attributes will always make the greater impact. It's time to grow up.
But as time passed on, Little Snow White grew more and more... until she was as lovely as the bright day, and still more lovely than the Queen herself, so that when the lady one day asked her mirror-, "Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all?"
It answered- "O Lady Queen, though fair ye be, Snow WHite is fairer far to see."
