I don't like Monotheists. I just don't. I don't like anyone who tells me that they're my only way to the Divine. I don't like anyone that tells me that I'm worth less than a man or, say, a white person. I don't like anyone who tells me that it's OK for them to kill whoever they feel like just because that person doesn't agree with their views, but if I were to have an abortion I'm automatically a murderer. I don't like anyone who tells me who I can and can't love, who I can and can't marry, who I can and can't devote myself to. I don't like anyone who tells me who I can and can't worship, and I don't like anyone who tells me what I can and can't think.
Granted, the bulk of my Hater-ness is directed at the two major world religions; Islam and Christianity. While I have no problem, exactly, with the main idea behind either religion, I do have a problem with the fact that they're producing a race of weak-willed, gun-toting, mindless zombies who are hell bent on destroying each other and anyone else that doesn't agree with and submit to them.
Am I reducing an entire group of people into a small, easy to categorize stereotype? NO! I'm actually do that to *several* groups of people. It's just faster that way, and plus I don't think I want the Jews filed in with my coupons since I've got two for ones in there. For those of you who've never heard one before, that was a joke so please don't run up my butt about it. Besides, my Grandmother's side is all Jewish, so why would I be anti Semetic? It's in my blood for Odin's sake, that would be like insulting the looks of my twin, lol.
Here's the deal. I don't hate Jesus, I don't hate God - or, your God I should say. But, chances are, I likely hate you. It's a snap judgment, and I admit that it's wrong from the get-go to hate people based on my perception of their beliefs, but let's be honest, you've given me good reason to hate you.
I don't hate Mohammad, in fact he and Jesus, like other prophets and saviors before them, have some great things to say ( in fact, I'd go so far as to say I look up to both of them and think everyone could benefit from their teachings ) and, being a Pagan ( Heathen ) myself, I'm inclined to believe in all pantheons even if I do think some of their followers ( Druids, grr. ) are slightly brain farted and quite scary. Kathy Griffin once said that people from the South seemed, "Proud of their aggressive ignorance." and that's kind of what I mean. I realize that living in the butt crack of the nation isn't helping matters, because I'm constantly surrounded by hicks and rednecks who give good Christians a bad name with their ignorant, racist, slack-jawed, inbred ways. I've more than once heard them refer to anyone from the Middle East as "Towel Heads" and claim that they'd shoot them on sight, hostile or not, if they ever saw one. This was said once right in front of a Pakistani guy in his early 20s running the register at the local gas station - if you've never seen someone go from smiling to silent terror, I suppose you've never lived in the Midwest.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Mahatma Gandhi
I suppose it's really just that, due to where I live right now, all I see are the problems instead of seeing what's good - which is nice, because it's simple and gives me a focus for my silly girl rage.
That being said, I don't really hate all Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. - in fact, some of my best and oldest friends are Christian, there are many wonderful Jews in my family and I find I have more and more Islamic friends every month or so because our country is becoming so deliciously diverse. What I hate are the extremists radicals that want to force their ways of life on everyone.
Why is this ironic? Because I, myself, am a religious extremist. While I don't really care if you believe what I do (I'm an Odin-worshiping crazypants so why would I? ), I have a huge problem with other religions using Paganism as a scape goat for all the things that are wrong with the world.
I suppose it's easier for us now, because now Christians are threatened by Muslims so the heat's off us a little, I guess I should be happy, right? But, alas, I want to be able to practice my religion openly, attend Blots and celebrate the holidays without fearing for my life. I suppose I'm just never satisfied.

Post a CommentM.S. Beltran: I know there are Pagan Monotheists, I'm not too fond of them either. They tend to be (not all, obviously) of the same stupid 'we're right' vein as Judaic Monotheists. TBH it's not the religions I have any kind of problem with, it's the people. Unlike whatever Robert read (wtf, btw lol) I don't deny the existence of your God or hate him, it's Christians I hate (and Islam, and Kemi, etc.) and anyone else who falls into the category of intolerant and dangerous towards my people. Where I come from, it's mostly Christians who are the problem - you can quote me on that, I'll stand by that statement. ;)
Robert: I'm an Odinist, honey, I don't lie - it'd strike me from Valhalla and I plan to fight in Ragnorok. I didn't say any of the things your comment says that I said, please re-read before you say something retarded.
I guess I don't get where you are coming from because I myself am not a hater, I'm a "live-and-let-live-er (even if that other living person and I abhor everything each other stands for)." Part of my belief in tolerance means I believe I don't have the right to try and force the same attitude on others. Ya'll are allowed to be haters. But I'm curious if you are aware that there are Pagan monotheists too? Not all monotheists are of Abrahamic faiths or even agree on all those issues you lump in with monotheism. Monotheists simply believe in one Godhead, it doesn't specify which Godhead.
Robert, you're hilarious!!! You MUST BE JOKING you couldn't be that dumb and blind!!! I love this article it's about hating christians not god nobody persecutes christians that bull!!
Well I'm glad that you are so up front about being a hate filled fanatic without one shred of respect for facts. Lying about the Christian faith and Christians is a form of persecution. Not all killing is unjustified. God's Word, not man's says that malicious lying is a form of murder and taking innocent human life, as in abortion, is murder pure and simple. And just because you hate God won't make Him cease to exist. Of course denying the existence of God and hating him with a purple passion is an interesting contradiction. Do you hate the tooth fairy too?
That's a fun piece! It's not that any particular religion is wrong...it's that all religion is a mental disorder. But hey! I'd still defend your right to keep yours too. I like your style.
Faith is not to be blamed...................when religion is used for politics, faith gets tainted and people become haters.................. thanks for the great article!
