Christian Testimony

Before I was any part of Christianity, before I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I used to do things that weren't pleasing to God. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that, but I used to do things that I thought were cool. Now when I look back, it seems so ridiculous, I can't believe I was so blind.

First off, I used to party all the time with my friends. I don't mean party as in having a good time with people that are close to you and actually care about you, but I mean party as getting wild, drinking, dancing, and trying to compete over females. Doing vulgar things and disrespecting females and rating them on their looks. I would also go clubbing with friends to dance and get drunk. The number one thing in all of our minds was sex. I won't lie though, I really didn't like that, even when I wasn't Christian, but I still thought about it a lot.

I never did any drugs but I've hung out with people that did drugs. I had friends that would smoke marijuana around me and I didn't tell them anything. Now, I look back at it and I should have said something about it.

The basic theme for every weekend was either, go out and drink, or get in a girl's pants. I started to get tired of that though, I was getting really bored of it and I started changing little by little. There was something in me that wanted me to part from that scene. I wasn't born for that, women deserve their respect. In all accounts, we all have women as our mothers. How could I, how could my friends, how could anyone on earth disrespect women and want them for sex. To use them as a tool of pleasure.

I soon started to tell my friends that I didn't want to go out. I would make up an excuse or I would just tell them that I had no money. That was another big part of my non-Christian life, I used to spend a lot of money on things that don't matter. Things that mean nothing. Anyways, back on the subject, I started to stop hanging out at clubs and parties.

One day one of my friends called me, I was actually at home and I didn't want to go out, but he called me and mentioned another person that I hadn't seen in a while, so I decided to go with them and eat. It was about 12am. There were five of us, my friend, and the person I hadn't seen in a while, another person and someone else from church. We were all talking and just hanging out eating. We planned to do something that weekend and we all agreed on going to the beach the next day. This was the beginning of my Christian life. I thank God for using my friend to do this. We went to the beach the next morning and had a wonderful time. I don't know why, but I started liking the person I hadn't seen in a while. She was my ex girlfriend's friend and I didn't really understand why I would like her. I mean, I had never gone out with an ex girlfriend's friend.

Well, we just had fun at the beach, the four of us. My friend and I, and that girl and her friend. It was an amazing time; we stayed at the beach from 10am until about 2pm or so. I couldn't explain it at the time, but God was using her to get to me. We soon started to hang out more and more and then that Sunday I was invited to their church. I had a wonderful time at the church, I really hadn't gone to church for about, 5 years or so, maybe even more. I told my friend that I would try to go on Sundays. However, the next Sunday I went and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

My life has been completely different since that day! I have seen the Lord's Glory personally. This girl that I started to like; started to like me as well. We could not explain it because she was one of my friend's ex and I was her friend's ex. So its kind of like a 4 way love triangle. Anyways, I started to pray. We prayed for almost 3 weeks. We asked the Lord to give us signs to see of me and her were meant to be together. The Lord gave us the signs we asked for. I don't know why, but everything that we asked for, the Lord decided to give to us. It's amazing.

I spoke to her father and he accepted it, he said that if God was in the situation, that he was fine with it. We decided to wait a little while longer and then we spoke to her dad again and decided to start dating. It's been great ever since.

Now, I'm not telling you this story just to brag about me dating a girl. I'm trying to show you how God works. The Lord works in mysterious ways, he paired me with someone that I had no idea I would ever be with. He chose the Pastor's daughter for me. Maybe God has a lot more in store for us and for me in particular. I just want you to know, that God is real and he has worked with me. He has Glorified himself in my life and I love the fact that I am saved.

I can go on forever on how God has worked with me in this life. I mean, I lost my job recently and God helped me find another one. I mean, the Lord Almighty never stops helping, loving, or providing us. Now, we have to make sure that we give our life to Jesus Christ and follow the Word of God so that we can be saved. We all need love in this life, God has the power to give you the love you seek. We all need things in this life and God is willing to give those things to you if you realize that Jesus is your Savior.

My life now is happy, full of love, and grateful for the love that God has given me. I don't need anything from the world; I find all I need in God. God gives me everything I need because I have faith in him and I know he will provide me with love and care, because I am his son in Christ. I hope that you see the power of God by reading this article I've written. I hope you accept this as testimony of God's power and God's grace upon us.
