Christianity Riles Progressives, yet Muslim Theocrats Are Just Fine with Them

Snidely Whiplash
As Egypt descends further into anarchy, what is it we hear from progressive mouthpieces on this matter? That the alleged group behind the protests, the Muslim Brotherhood, are merely freedom fighters working for democracy, right? Isn't that the MSM talking point? This is just noble Muslims working to oust a terrible dictator.

Despite MSM efforts at selling this as a freedom movement the truth is behind the scenes are organizers who have a decidedly theocratic bent to their motivations. So if theology is in any way associated with the Egyptian uprising why is the left not incensed at this turn of events? Hasn't it been a 30 year effort of progressives to proclaim conservatism as some Christo/Fascist effort at governing?

Why are the efforts of Muslim's not seen for what they are...an endeavor at supplanting secular leadership with some form of Muslim theocracy? And since that is clearly what is going on despite the MSM sycophancy trying to convince citizens otherwise, why are progressives seemingly just fine with it?

Why do progressives get a free pass at defending every effort of Muslim's to interlace law and religion, yet any American conservative point is painted as driven by some secret Christian group of evil doers? Remember all the idiot chatter that Bush was working toward establishing a theocracy in the US? It hasn't been that long ago that foolish lefties leveled this asinine denigration over and over again.

In reality this isn't about religion at all. It's about any ideology that is counter to the efforts of progressive ideology. That is not to say some agnostic lefties don't have genuine concerns, but in the main this is nothing more than a worn out political denigration to further defame and attempt to destroy conservatism.

When Bubba, Obama or the Reverend's Sharpton and Jackson mention God the left claps in unison, yet if Bush prays or Beck says put one's faith in God, the left goes bonkers. How does that work exactly? Is the God Beck and Bush referred to a different one that the one progressives call upon? I think we need to acknowledge the ugly truth that when some invoke God it's merely rhetorical. Frankly on the part of the left as a whole it's just lip service.

The progressive hypocrisy is astounding. They scream how important it is to go out of our way to accommodate the Muslim community and the larger Muslim world as a whole, yet American Christians are ridiculed. Progressives frame it that for an American to be a God fearing Christian, an evangelical if you will, that's a sign of a small mind; one who cannot think on their own; one who needs to put faith in some unseen Deity to protect and guide them.

Yet let Muslim fundamentalists rear their heads and the left are just fine with it. They will rush to support Muslim desires. How is an American Christian worthy of attack and denigration as stupid, backward and all the rest, but Muslim fundamentalism is just wonderful? See the glaring hypocrisy that proves it's merely another tool in the kit for progressives to use to try and defeat traditional American beliefs? Citizens must keep in mind that for progressivism to win it must supplant most traditional ideas of what it means to be an American.

Ever notice the tendency for American progressives to unfailingly side with anti-American concepts? Whatever position is most diametrically opposed to tradition, thus conservative viewpoints, is worthy of progressive forwarding and supporting. And Muslim activism in the US is not a traditional event, so clearly the left is all for it because it is yet another hopeful opportunity for American progressives to defame anyone not in lock step.

The evidence is overwhelming. American progressives will go to the mat to support Muslim fundamentalism, but let Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck mention God and that is proof that Beck and Palin are stupid as well as trying to install a theocracy in the US. Only an idiot would accept such hypocrisy. It's not clever as progressives think it is. It's ugly, unfair, hypocritical and lasting proof that progressives would bed down with Satan himself if it furthered their political agenda.

Props to the first lefty with the guts to call Muslim's fundamentalist belief in God to be theocratic and unacceptable. What's that? Deafening silence? Go figure!

I have seen (and experienced) this quite often myself. Spot on, esp. concerning the passes they give the extreme misogynistic, racist wing of Islam while crucifying (pun intended) Christians at every turn. It proves the adage "If you're enemies with my enemies, that makes us friends".

I don't know what progressive you're talking about who think muslim theocrats are "just fine." I don't know a single one. Don't paint the whole group with one brush. I, unfortunately, agree totally with Nancy Pants.

Whippy, America, the one that my forefathers fought and died for, is best summarized in the quote by Thomas Jefferson, "Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from His lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christian." cheers :)

The prez is just too damn busy bending over backward trying to convince the world we don't blame the entire Muslim world for 9/11 to worry about a little bit of hypocrisy

Theocracy is unacceptable, regardless of which imaginary sky fairy is chosen.
