Christie Brinkley Divorce Settlement

Can We Call it Sweet Freedom?

Introduced on Day Five were Ty and Steve Dux, investigators for the case, who claimed during an interview outside the courthouse with ET, to have "damaging information" on Peter Cook. The investigators would not embroider any details. This information was the lead-in to the settlement between the fuss-some-two-some.

Overnight they negotiated and by 6:15a.m. on day six, an agreement was reached. Christie will get custody of the children. Christie will give peter 2.1 million dollars, most of which will probably go to his attorney fees. Peter Cook will keep his same visitation, every other weekend and Wednesdays. Christie was awarded all 18 properties she purchased during the marriage. The family boat, ironically named, "Sweet Freedom" is to be sold and the proceeds split equally.

A court appointed psychiatrist has spoken with the family and determined Christie should seek therapy for her anger over Peter's infidelity. He also determined Peter is narcissistic, "an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for their own admiration", defined by the Mayo Clinic's web page.

Wed in 1996, Supermodel Christie Brinkley and Architect Peter Cook began a not so friendly public divorce court on July 2nd, 2008. The couple had a prenuptial agreement, but the custody of their two children Jack, 13, and Sailor, 9 was still up for grabs.

The marriage fell apart after Christie learned of Peter's affair with his then 18-year-old personal assistant Diana Bianchi who was subpoenaed to the divorce court where she testified of their affair. Cook testified of his $3,000 per week Internet porn habit, as well the fact of he and his assistant had sex in the office and at the homes of Christie Brinkley. Peter Cook gave Diana Bianchi $300,000 in an out of court settlement between the two.

This does put a spin on What happens to someone with money and Good Looks. ( Now I have heard she is very nice ) But this does not change the fact that famous, beautiful people make mistakes too. Let''s me know we all make mistakes. :)
Best of luck to Christie and the Children.

Christie Brinkley is so bitter over this divorce, as well as Peter's lack of fidelity that my guess is she wanted him exposed for the person he is. Many have critisized her for wanting the divorce public, for the children's sake. She took the kids off to mountaintops to get them away from Internet and News. But how much intervention can be done when the children catch Peter in front of the webcam "taking care" of himself? When he brings other women with him on group outings while he is still married to their mother? Perhaps she was thinking Anger, Rage, vindictiveness? Or perhaps she was trying to warn the world about Peter to "attempt" him from hurting other women the way that he hurt her? The world may never know..but I cant say that I have not ever been so upset that I wouldn't at least "think" about having public trial. I guess what I am trying to say is I see both sides. Did I mention that Peter was arrested in the 80's for habitually selling Cocaine? Suprise? not!

I guess the only winner here is the narcissistic creep & the bimbette who earned $300,000 on her back. Winners in the most shallow and insubstantail sense that is, for there isn't enough money in the world for me to lose my family or my family's respect and/or love.
