"Christina Aguilera Arrested for Public Intoxication. However, the Singer Deserves a Pass on This."

Jason Tanamor
Christina Aguilera's life has gone downhill since the split with her husband. Nude photos, bad album sales and a couple of embarrassing public performances at the Super Bowl and the Grammy's have highlighted the singer's life negatively. If those incidents weren't bad enough, now you can add public intoxication to the list. The singer was recently arrested around 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning, March 1st, with her boyfriend, involving alcohol.

However, as crazy as Aguilera's life's been, I don't necessarily think this recent event is the singer's fault. That's because Aguilera was not driving the car, her boyfriend was. Granted, her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, was crunked, it does not mean the singer should have been arrested as well.

But thanks to LA County Sheriffs, Aguilera was apparently "so drunk she couldn't take care of herself." Pardon me, but that is why Aguilera was not driving. Riding with a drunk driver is bad judgment, but does it warrant an arrest?

Of course, no one knows the real story. Perhaps Aguilera copped an attitude or Rutler was an ass. I'm sure one or both could be true, but police officers are still trained to deal with situations like this. The sheriff on duty should have arrested Rutler and had Aguilera call for a ride.

Speculate all you want regarding Aguilera's life, but the past incidents should not influence anyone's decision in regard to making a call that could be even more negative to her life. Let's not forget Aguilera still went through a break-up with her husband. She deserves somewhat of a break here.
